1. Describe one or two issues you believe are important for the Huntsville community to address. Why do these issues matter, and what ideas do you have for addressing them?
2. Why are you interested in joining the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council? What do you hope to contribute to the program, and what do you hope to gain from the experience?

Meeting Availability: The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) will meet at least one Saturday each month, with additional meetings scheduled as needed based on events and program activities. Members are expected to prioritize attendance and actively participate in all scheduled sessions. Consistent attendance is essential to maintaining membership. Members who accumulate two (2) or more unexcused absences, or three (3) or more excused absences within a semester, may be subject to a membership review conducted by the Executive Board in coordination with City staff. Members should be mindful of potential scheduling conflicts, as frequent absences may impact their ability to remain in good standing with the Council.

As the parent/legal guardian of the applicant, I hereby grant my permission to the applicant to participate in the Huntsville Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (HMYAC), which includes, but is not limited to, bimonthly meetings, volunteer outings, day and overnight trips and other activities as they arise. I understand that if accepted, the applicant will need reliable transportation to events and activities.
